Tom Kaulitz and his twin brother, Bill, enjoy a night out at Greystone Manor on Thursday (December 15) in West Hollywood, Calif.

The 22-year-old Tokio Hotel bandmates will soon be keeping in touch with their fans via a new “BTK app” for iPhones and Android smartphones set to launch December 19.

“We created an App for you guys so you can be closer to us than you probably ever imagined. We are in the final testing phase right now so I don’t want share too much yet … well, you can definitely expect private pics, vids, messages and much more right from Bill and myself. Are you excited?” Tom wrote on his blog back in October.

The boys haven’t really been performing much lately but that’s because they moved to Los Angeles and are spending night and day in the studio to work on their new album which is to release in Spring 2012!

Tokio Hotel are a groundbreaking and unique band and always deliver, that’s what’s got fans across the globe going crazy over them.

--In the previous interview, we had talked about your favourite movies and the background of your music, there were lots of fans echoed about it, and I personally also would like to know, that have you ever been saved by music?
When you are depressed, you feel like you are saved by one song, something like this.

All: Absolutely and all the time.

Tom: I think we are saved by composing. Otherwise, Bill has nowhere to go.

All: Laugh.

Bill: Music saves people anytime in no matter what kind of situation or emotion, as many staff and Tom are always writing the best song at that time.

--When you write songs, do you have “bringing the hope to everybody” in mind?

Bill: Firstly, I always think about everyone’s idea and write them down.I like to tour best, because I can share my emotion and feeling with others. Then I can also know how they react (to me). I received letters from fans written “ your songs save me”. We don't know what's going on, but we are very happy about it. So, music can really helps people. When fans told us that our songs can help them, we are so proud of ourselves.

--Gustav and Georg, have you ever been saved by music?

Georg: For us, especially for Gustav and me, we always think that we don't have other things to do, except music. If I was not in the rehearsal room, I should have been idling in the streets all day along.

Gustav: Working in post office.

Tom, Bill: Laugh.

Georg: It may be because we got in touch with music when we were teenagers. That was very important. (Georg often made collusion.)

All: Laugh.

Tom: Isn't it the opposite?(Laugh). (Do the girls) really want to know about our skin?

Georg: Mine is…… (Touching his face and hair)

Bill: Proactiv? (Looking at Georg)

Tom: Your hair is nice. (Everyone is looking at Georg.)

(Maybe Georg really has the best skin and the most beautiful, and longest hair)

Bill: I do not do any skincare.

Tom: I use the soap provided by hotel all the time.

Bill: To me, it’s the sun. I think that bathing in the sunshine a little bit is good to skin. At least, it works on me. People always say that sunburn makes you look older, but I don't really care.

Bill: Even if something is wrong in the skin, sunburn can hide it. (Laugh)

Tom: I have no idea. Maybe it’s because it looks good, so I start to wear.

Bill: It’s much easier, isn’t it? Comparing to shaving the beard everyday…...

Tom: If I shave my beard everyday, my skin will be rough like Bill’s.

Bill: The good thing is that the freckles can be hidden.

Georg: It took half a year to grow the beard like this long. (Laugh)

--We notice that Bill developed his muscles. Did you do any training?

Bill: As Tom goes to gym for training, we go to gym together sometimes.

For all GIRLS who are fans of TH, sorry to have kept you waiting. I will now post the interview of TH, which is done when thay came to Japan for the VMAJ show last month. Due to the limited 10-minute time, I could not ask all the questions collected from Blog and Twitter, but the 4 lovely boys tried their best to answer the questions.

On June 24th, although I was preparing the ELLEgirl NIGHT, I decided to interview TH anyway. Here I would like to thank the staff for your concern.

Here are Gustav, Bill, Tom, Georg from the left. I thought they got jet lag, but actually they looked very fresh when they entered the interview room.

--The interviews you guys took before have made a stir all around the world. The interview was translated into, of course, English, and also French, Thai, Russian and other languages, and put on web. There are also comments written in English, French and German in my blog.

Bill: (very glad) Yeah, that’ so amazing, right? It’s unbelievable.

--This time I told fans I would interview TH, so in recent days I received a large number of questions from Uruguay, Russia, Italy, China and etc. Fans all over the earth want to ask you questions. They wrote something like this: if you would come to Japan, we hope you come to Kyusyu; or we hope you can come to Uruguay or Moscow. They all hope TH can come to their local place.

Bill: I see. We’d love to. All the fans keep eyes on your blog, right?

--Yeah, I think that network between TH fans is great.
Well, let’s get started. Let’s see how many questions you can answer.
Did you search for your favourite place or store in Tokyo? (From KANA)

Bill: To be honest, we don’t have opportunities to look around or even free time. Especially this time we just stay for 2 nights.[*actually,they stay for 4 days 3 nights] We spend all our time on interviews or shows (rehearsal and activities included), so we don’t have any chance to ramble around. But in the first visit to Japan, But when we first got to Japan, we had 30 minutes of free time, so I checked some beautiful and fashionable people.

--Where is it? Harajuku or Shibuya?

Bill: Yeah, it's great. I had gone to some fashion stores. So, I would like to come to Japan and go around leisurely when I have a holiday next time.

Because of the limited time, we kept on the interview. The interview was held on June 24th, on the day when they held their acoustic live in Audi showroom, the day before VMAJ.

--Here's a question form a girl,who wears Yukata in today's event: Do you like Kimono and Yukata? (From Sindy)

Bill: Really? We like it. (Eyes shining) Last time we received Kimono as presents. Every morning we woke up in Kimono.
[*actually, I think that what Bill received is Yukata, insteand of Kimono. Firstly, it is very difficult to wear Kimono, and it is not confortable to wear Kimono and sleep. Secondly, Kimono is kind of expensive.But the original text is written as Kimono, so here I translated as Kimono.]

Tom: Last time I took a picture with two girls in Kimono.

Bill: Yeah, yeah.

--But if you wear Kimono in the show, it must be different style with your songs.

Bill: Hahaha. That’s right. Maybe we have to prepare some black Kimono with rivets.

Tom: (Laugh) Georg may wear Kimono tomorrow in VMAJ.

Georg looks like to say no with a cool smile.

-- Please tell us what kind of feeling you guys want to express in the performance of tommorow's VMAJ. As this time, the event is in the form of an aid, which is going to support victims in the Great East Japan Earthquake. (From yukari, TH55 and KANA)
Bill: The meaning of 'aid' is of couse important. We really appreciate the opportunity of taking part in this activity. I think that It is really cool for MTV to take the lead in this aspect. The successive aids are quite important. People unite and donate for the victims is also important. We really want to be one part of them and support them, so it’s our honor to perform in VMAJ tomorrow.

Bill: I don't know, it's like really spontaneous, you know, I just have always a lot of bags with me, and I like to combine different stuff, so it's like I have different designers and then I have like this hat which is a second hand hat I just bought in Los Angeles, and yeah, I just like to play around a little bit every day.

Interviewer: Why is your band name "Tokio Hotel"?

Bill: We were searching for a name which just keeps us going, and Tokyo was just so far away, and we thought okay, its something unreachable, something so far away, and we don't know nothing about the city. And hotel was a kind of a symbol, you know, for a life, that we just wanted to live. Yeah, that's what "Tokio Hotel" is.

Interviewer: Actually coming to Tokyo, how is it?Bill: We love it.
Tom: We love it, yeah!

Interviewer: So, how different was your image of Tokyo, and the actual city, was it the same?Tom: Oh, we had no picture in mind.
Bill: No, I just thought it's huge, colorful and it's like that.
Georg: And see more of the country maybe. That would be great.
Bill: Yeah.
Gustav: We never have time for this, so just interviews, so...
Tom: But we have a vacation next week!
Gustav: Yeah.

Lastly, we asked them what they would like the audience to say when cheering for them!

Finally it happened! Tokio Hotel arrived in Moscow to the Muz-TV Awards! BRAVO met the band and learned a lot of interesting details about their life.

BRAVO’s editor Liza has interviewed the guys at Olympiysky a few minutes before the Muz-TV Awards.

Bravo: There was really huge crowd of fans in front of the hotel. They came to see you, but suddenly one security came out and said, that you had asked the girls not to scream.
*All of them are laughing*
Georg and Tom: Whaaat?!
Bill: Whoa! We never said that! On the contrary we love so much our fans to greet us with happy cries! Next time, when you hear something like that, you should tell us, we will kick him out immediately!

Bravo: Oh, thanks God! Did you take your dogs to Moscow again?
Bill: No, unfortunately we didn’t… They stayed at home. Last year we took two our big dogs (German short-haired and Labrador) on tour with us. But we’re not going to stay in Moscow for that long, so we decided not to make dogs nervous. Flight is a huge stress for them. If I could change the rules, I’d let animals travel on board the plane. During the tour when we traveled by bus the dog slept with me in my bed.

Bravo: Bill, the video where you appeared with beard made some buzz in the Net. Was it real beard?
Tom: Nope! It’s postproduction! It was painted on the computer later. *All of them are laughing*
Bill: May be you’ll be surprised, but my beard grows too. I didn’t expect my 3-days bristle would make such ballyhoo. The camera was not so good and I thought no one would notice it. Actually at home I’m always unshaven. And I shave if I have to go out.

Bravo: You also dressed up today… You have a hood with fur. But it’s 25C degrees in Moscow!
Bill: Yes, I didn't know, that it’s so hot here!
Tom: Btw, I have to draw your attention that it’s not real fur! And we are vegetarians actually.

Bill: Tom can’t finally make up his mind to do it! He is afraid of tattoos.

Bill: We’re working on our new album. On weekends I swim in the pool the whole day and have fun in amusement park. Tom and me are obsessed with it. Btw, we celebrated our 20th Birthday in amusement park, but it was in Germany.
Tom: I like jet-ski and quadrocycles. I like everything with engine! In LA we also like the fact that we can go to the supermarket and buy yoghurt, rent a car.

Tom: But we live a bit distantly even there. We can’t be free for 100%. Most of the time we’re staying at home.

Dear fans,

We’re just a few days away from April, which means that it’s been almost a year since Tokio Hotel made their first official appearance in Asia. Their presence here brought about a lot of chaos and happy memories, some of which will probably stay with us for the rest of our lives. Most importantly, we've all made awesome fan-friends who shared these experiences with us.

So now, we’re bringing you an event whereby all of us can gather together and spend the day just enjoying and celebrating the month of April. We’re gonna have food, activities and, of course, good music ;) you won’t want to miss this!

In addition to this meetup, we'll also be selling some TH mugs and THSG shirts (available for preorder):

The shirts will be sold at S$15 and we'll update on the price of the mugs very soon.

When evening approaches, we’ll be holding an auction over A1-sized Tokio Hotel posters. 80% of the profits made from these sales will go to the Singapore Red Cross Society as we’re also organizing this event in hopes of supporting Japan through this difficult time. (We have written a post about it here.)

We're aiming to make the 13th April deadline, hence we've decided to hold the event on Saturday, 9th April from 4pm to 11pm. So do consider attending and supporting us! :)

A/N: The news surrounding Japan has brought about a lot of heartache and terror. Many, many lives have been lost and millions are without homes, food, water and their families. The people of Japan need as much help and support they can get to get through this tough time. Our local humanitarian organization Singapore Red Cross Society has provided us with ways on how we can help the victims of Japan's tsunami and earthquake disasters.

As of now until 13 April 2011, the SRC is accepting monetary donations to help survivors of the Japanese Disaster. All donations made to this appeal will be earmarked specifically for the relief, rehabilitation and reconstruction efforts for survivors of this disaster. We urge you to consider donating as every bit will help.

THEY are stars in Japan - now they met in Asia. The German band Tokio Hotel visited Dortmund's injured midfielder Shinji Kagawa (21).

He cured his broken metatarsal in his homeland. During the daily rehabilitation (eight hours) the visit of the pop stars from Magdeburg, was a nice change. They talked about their experiences in their respective countries and invited each other to concert- and stadium-visits.

Tokio Hotel were just in Japan to introduce their new album.

UNTIL someone figures out how to make a fashion design reality show for TV without a runway, resident judges and weekly eliminations, comparisons will be inevitable.

It's little wonder why critics see the genre's latest entry, Launch My Line, as a poor knock-off of Project Runway.

After all, the wildly successful Emmy-winning Project Runway started the trend in 2004 and is now into its eighth season.

A similar series, The Fashion Show, where 15 unknown designers compete for a chance to retail their collections, was panned when it aired in the US in 2009.

It was hosted by fashion designer Isaac Mizrahi, supermodel Iman and singer Kelly Rowland.
But Launch My Line host and judge Dan Caten, who is also the founder of high-end fashion label DSquared, was unfazed by such criticism - even though there's no word about a second season since the first one ended in the US in February last year.

We're different, 47-year-old Caten insisted in a phone interview with The New Paper.

Speaking from Italy where he's based, the chatty Canadian told The New Paper over the phone: 'I guess the thing with Project Runway is (like Launch My Line) it originated from (US TV network) Bravo.

'Launch My Line is about building a line and creating a brand.

Different focus

'It's not about creating one dress a week (like Project Runway). Each item has to correspond with the next item. So the challenge is more about building a brand and line rather than just making a dress.

'We're looking for an identity and continuity in a designer. Our focus was making sure they had a cohesive identity throughout each garment. I think that's where we're the most different (from other fashion design reality shows).'

Anyway, Caten claimed he has 'never watched Project Runway'.

'I don't really care about what others think.'

Launch My Line premieres over Sony Entertainment Television (SingTel mio TV Ch 20) on March 1 at 9pm.

It features 10 professionals - among them are a fashion writer, an architect and a choreographer - who have zero knowledge about fashion design but aspire to build their own clothing line.

They are paired up with 10 established fashion designers such as Roberto De Villacis and Jim Tanner, who act as their mentors.

The winner will have his clothing line launched and the expert designer will receive US$50,000 ($64,000).

Caten's identical twin brother and DSquared co-founder Dean, who's older by 15 minutes, is also the host and judge of Launch My Line.

The younger Caten claimed that he and his brother 'balance each other out' and are 'pretty much on the same page'.

Misunderstanding

But at last year's Audi Fashion Festival (AFF) in Singapore, the brothers were said to have had a run-in with another set of identical twins - German rock band Tokio Hotel's Kaulitz brothers.

DSquared had previously created concert outfits for lead singer Bill Kaulitz, who opened the label's menswear autumn/winter show in Milan last year.

The talk was that Tokio Hotel thought the band was supposed to perform during AFF's DSquared fashion show, but the Kaulitz twins ended up watching the presentation from the front row and performing only after it.

Apparently, things became so heated that the twins allegedly threw DSquared clothes along the corridor of their hotel.

Dan Caten dismissed the AFF episode as 'a misunderstanding'.

'There was no falling out. We didn't know they were coming. It was a surprise for us that they ended up there.

'We didn't have anything for them to wear so we felt very disorganised. It would have been good if we'd known.'

As for the Kaulitz brothers throwing out DSquared's threads, Dan Caten claimed this was 'new to me'.

In any case, DSquared can still count on other celebrity fans, from pop divas Madonna - for whom the twins created 150 outfits for her 2001 Drowned World Tour - to Rihanna.

There's also Lady Gaga, who was a guest muse on Launch My Line, where she commanded contestants to design an outfit for her using red patent leather.

Although the singer has worn DSquared's avant-garde designs before, DSquared has nothing to do with the alien-like cocoon from which Lady Gaga emerged at the recent Grammy Awards show.

Caten hadn't watched the Grammys but said that she looked amazing on the cover of the current issue of US Vogue.

'She's definitely a phenomenon. She's the modern-day everything.

'We're huge fans. We love her.'

Last year, Bill and Tom Kaulitz went on tour with their band Tokio Hotel. During the "Welcome to Humanoid City" tour, the band visited Paris, Barcelona, Rome and many other places. Tom is the cover face for Reebok, Bill made an appearance on the Milan Fashion Week, and along with that they've graced the covers of Vogue, GQ - all established fashion magazines. As a complete contrast to your stage outfits, on fashion shooting we can see you in classical italian suits. What do you say about that?

Bill: It's definitely not something I'd wear every day, but I like to, from time to time. You can make combinationS, per example, at home I have a few coats I wear with jeans and such. I do not like to mask myself. Anything that would make me feel like I'm not in my own skin is out of the question. Suits and coats are a bit too much for the stage, too elegant, I like wearing leather jackets and stuff I can move around in as my stage clothes. Maybe I could wear that during a song or two... but not more.

You guys know that fashion trends change quickly. So you both probably have different ways to develop your fashion senses.

Bill: I think there will always be outfits we'll like forever, and outfits we'll like for a while and then never again. This happens to me regularly now, too. I'm usually not ashamed for wearing something from my past, but there are things I look at and think: "Oh God, what was I wearing?" It's a normal part of growing up and finding your path. There are always those moments when we urge for a change and to try out something new and fresh.

Everyone has one's role model. Who do rock stars look up to?

Bill: I've never had a real role model, but I like the appearance of David Bowie and Steven Tyler. But I've never had a fashion icon of my own.

A great sign of Bill's fashion sense are words of the great fashion mogul Karl Lagerfeld, who had been personally interested in Tokio Hotel. You did a fashion editorial with him for Vogue.

Bill: That was a great honor. I've become interested in fashion quite early in my age. I used to do my own clothes when I was a kid, so working with Karl Lagerfeld was like a dream for me. It was an amazing moment. I was very pleased he had noticed my effort and that he liked what I do.

How do you establish a personal style that is actually appreciated by the fashion world? How did you even come up with your style, and where do you get your inspiration from?

Bill: I think that inspiration comes from different places. It's sort of mixed in my situation. It all started with hair coloring and make up. When I was a kid, I enjoyed vampire movies, and one year I went to a Halloween party dressed as a vampire and I liked it a lot, so I continued dressing that was in my private life.

So that makes you very trendy now. But is there anything you would never wear?

Bill: Oh well I'd never wear clothes that Tom wears, and fur, also, out of the question.

Of course, since you two are vegetarians. Your personal style is very different than your brother's.

Bill: Well, as time goes by I've started liking Tom's clothes more and more. I can cope with it, but I don't think we'll ever be exchanging clothes. Until we were about 6 years old, we wore the same clothes and even had pullovers with "Bill" and "Tom" on them so people could tell us apart. Then came the time when we started wearing what we wanted and mom didn't prepare our clothes every day. Then we automatically went in different fashion directions. Tom's style always depended on his music taste, he listens only to Hip-Hop and nothing else, although he's in a rock band. He's always going to be this way, he's Tom.

But you guys still have plenty of stuff in common.
Tom: Bill and I are like one person, but we show different aspects of that one person, and we make a perfect combination when together. We might have different tastes, but we're always on the same wave-length. I know exactly what Bill's thinking, he knows what I'm thinking, so we don't need to talk to understand each other.

You guys have a new album out, Best Of. Do you have any expectation about it and what's it like to have an album with your best songs in your hands?

Bill: It feels kind of weird to have a Best Of album this quickly in our career, but on the other hand we're very proud to have a huge collection of hits, enough for a Best Of. There are 2 new songs, one of them is from back in 2002, it's called „Mädchen aus dem All“.
Tom: Yeah and Bill's voice was much different back then, he still hadn't started changing.
Bill: Yes, and there's another song, Hurricanes and Suns, from 2009.

You guys have moved to Los Angeles. Is it because you guys have have more privacy there or to write and compose without a bunch of people bothering you?
Tom: It's true, we feel great living in LA, as far as our private life is concerned. We also wrote most of our songs from Humanoid album in LA, too.

You did a campaign for PETA, tell us something about that.

Tom: Oh the pictures were amazing!
Bill: We love animals, very much. We have four beautiful dongs and all four come from animal shelter.
Tom: Yes, and we've been vegetarians for two years now.
Bill: PETA asked us to be in a campaign and support those poor animals who are kept in circuses and go through a lot of stress and torture, and of course we said yes immediately. We can really identify with those animals.

Tokio Hotel is also making donations for a school. How does it feel to be able to help others and give them what you have?

Bill: It makes us very happy to be able to help and give others, we come from a music family ourselves, so it's important for us. We've always had a possibility of making music, because we had access to it, so helping others who don't have the equipment is a great joy for us.

“Love means everything. It’s life,” says Bill Kaulitz. Despite the fact that the Tokio Hotel frontman has an army of young fans, he claims that he hasn’t had a girlfriend in a long time. Love isn’t limited to just relationships and girls. Love is all around us. For me, it’s real love when I meet fans, to be touring with the guys, and to be standing on a stage in front of an eager audience, says Bill.

Yet, there are some celebrity girls that steal his attention. “If I wanted to date a celebrity, the Olsen twins are right up there,” says Bill. WE’RE GOING TO CHANGE MUSIC

TOPP is meeting the band in their hotelroom. They’ve held the meeting an secret because a flock of young girls are waiting outside their hotel, and when the superstars appear, they cry tears of joy. “They’ve helped me through a very difficult time,” says a teary-eyed girl. When we mention the fans that have gathered outside, the band is flattered. – We’re so glad for our fans, and we couldn’t put a price on them. (Translator’s Note: This expression doesn’t translate well. They are literally saying: “We put a big price on their engagement in us.”).

In December, the band released their “Best of” album, and they’re already underway with recording their new album which will be ready for November 2011 (Translator’s Note: don’t know how true this is…).

The band will be working with different producers in Berlin and Los Angeles and the process will take about half a year. When asked if they will be inspired by artists they look up to, they shake their heads.

“We listen to almost only our own music when we’re on tour and when we go into the studio,” says Bill. He is a huge fan of music from the 80s. – I am a fan of Depeche Mode and David Bowie, but I listen mostly to Tokio Hotel before playing in the studio.

Although they are inspired by themselves, they said that, this time they want to change their sound. – We’ve always liked to be surprising, and to not appear as a predicatable band, says Bill. Bill says he is always changing, “My hair, for example. All four of us like to experiment with our own styles, just like our music in the comming year.”

“I must convice Georg and Gustav to change their style, but they don’t want to be ‘nerds’ and just do what’s comfortable for them. I’ve asked them if they want to colour their hair or wear colourful T-shirts, but no. It just doesn’t work for them. Tom is more accepting towards change than Georg or Gustav. I have six to eight months before I’m going to decide whether to cut my hair or not. We’ll see. I welcome all changes.”

HATE THE BOOTS

Lead singer Bill has a style that separates him from the crowd, no doubt. The 21-year old also has strong opinions about current girl’s fashion trends. “Rubberboots are the ugliest things I have ever seen. You look like you’re dressing for work!”

But the Kaulitz brothers also have a guilty pleasure – classic chick flicks (girly romance movies). “It’s hard to believe, but I really like ‘The Notebook,’” admits Tom. Bill has a soft sort for “Meet Joe Black” where Brad Pitt plays the lead role.

That they’re now sitting here, being asked all sorts of different questions by the press all over the world, was inconceivable for the band when they formed in 2001. But it didn’t take a long time for them to become known, soon they were excused from school to focus 100% on their music.

“Of course, it was fantastic to skip school, but other things were more difficult to give up,” says Bill. “I remember my 16th birthday, I wanted to party, but we had to do interviews instead. It was a long process before we became disciplined to focus. I know some things have passed me by, but I would never give up what I have today.”

“There are some days were I wish I could just go out in the streets or drive around in my car without being noticed, but what would I even do? Bill Kaulitz with an office job? I would collapse! Yeah, I’ll just do what I like to do best, stand on the stage and entertain. I get nervous when I see an award show on TV that Tokio Hotel doesn’t have. I want to be on top. That is my inner strength. That’s what holds me together.”

It has been too long since our last Tokio Hotel update, folks. So we're going to rectify that situation right now!

First up, what happens when one of the most passionately loved and obsessed over bands spends some time in the land of the world's most passionately obsessive fans? Well, the new episode of Tokio TV answers that question, catching up with the band as they meet some of their more, um, excited Japanese fans -- in Tokyo, no less.

The band members interact with some screaming fans, do some shopping, argue over correct autograph procedures and generally seem to have a great time.

In other Tokio news, we came across this tweet, from New Year's Eve, where it was cryptically announced that Bill Kaulitz had recorded a track with another artist. But said musician's name is a secret. Hmmm.
