Hey guys, we're aware that there's another budding Fansite for Tokio Hotel Singapore and we'd like to address this issue.
This site, as we've run it, ARE both the Fanclub and Street Team.
Street Team as wikipedia.org as said it means "A Street team is a term used in marketing to describe a group of people who 'hit the streets' promoting an event or a product."
The reason why we've never really brought up the fact that we're also the 'Fanclub' is because it comes with the territory. The fanpage (this blog) was created to bring fans together to comment on articles or anything official that is happening with Tokio Hotel and where fans can gather to communicate with each other like a fanclub does.
Our club started in early 2008, from Myspace to this site here and then we've branched out to Facebook; we've definitely gone a long way and within these ~2 years~ we're still a growing fanbase. The need to have active members participating actively in commenting and being a knit close community is crucial. That's why we've always been stressing the 'Street Team'.
We've definitely progressed with being a street team. From the votings, to Audi Fashion Festival, to the feature on Radio 91.3, to the Everyone Connect's concert in Malaysia and we're sure for many more future outings to come, you guys have come a long way and this Fanclub and Street Team is here today because of you.
We're not official yet but we're the ones recognized by other Fanclubs, Street Teams and even official media. It is our personal opinion that it is unfair that other Fanclubs can claim to be the 'official' Fanclub when we ourselves have been particularly cautious when using that term. Official Fanclubs are only decided by Universal and Tokio Hotel management and we would like to stick to this.
As far as we know, we've established our identity and we hope that everyone can respect this and understand why we took such actions. We hope that we've managed to bring the point of this note across as clear as possible, but we would like to clarify any doubts that you might have.
Kudos to the Admins! I believe if all fans continue to support THIS team, we will soon (hopefully) get the "Official" title.

Thank you so much for your support! :) We're very grateful for the support that the other fans have given us as well. We're hoping for the best.
ReplyDeleteI'd already tweeted the street team but thought I'd comment here too. I've been silently visiting the site for ages but never interacted - so perhaps this is a good time to finally say something.
ReplyDeleteMy admiration and thanks goes to all admins/mods of tokiohotelsg. Whether or not you all do get 'official status' & all that jazz, you're pretty awesome, regardless, to readers like me :) The attitudes expressed on this site have always been positive & constructive. It's remarkable that such a manic fandom all over the world can be so respectful here in Singapore.
Which is why I commend you all, admins/mods, for being very mature and proper about the whole fiasco of the other fansite popping up. Thank you for keeping things tasteful & mature. It's nice to know that as a fanclub & street team, we're not just a rabid group of people vying for attention.
In summary, KUDOS to all & I love this street team. Truly & really the best fandom management I've known :) Lotsa love & all the best :)
Thank you nakedlight. We really appreciate it <3 Thank you sincerely for your support and your heartfelt words. Thank you.
