Flea Market for Tohoku - Results!

Here's the update for the Flea Market for Tohoku auction:

The final bid amounted to 235, 900 Japanese Yen and the signed bass guitar is now sold to one lucky fan! Proceeds will go to the Japanese Red Cross Society's funds for Japan's tsunami and earthquake relief.

Also, Tokio Hotel won MTV VMAJ'S Best Rock Video Award! Great job, fans! :D

MTV VMAJ: Flea Market for Tohoku

MTV VMAJ Flea Market for Tohoku will be broadcast live on Ustream from 9pm to 11pm (8PM SG TIME) on June 25th. There will be special live performances by VERBAL, Alam, May J., Marty Friedman, Anna Tsuchiya and Naoto Inti Raymi, and also, AI, Thelma Aoyama, ICONIQ and Tokio Hotel will show up on the stage to give special messages. MTV Video Music Aid Japan (VMAJ)

The tenth annual MTV Video Music Awards Japan (VMAJ) will be staged as a live international music television event to benefit the Japanese Red Cross entitled MTV VIDEO MUSIC AID JAPAN.

Hosted by Japanese pop sensation AKB48 and featuring live performances from international, regional and Japanese artists, the staging of MTV VIDEO MUSIC AID JAPAN will be the culmination of MTV Japan’s MUSIC OF HOPE campaign, the multi-platform response to the March 11 earthquake and tsunami. Designed to inspire and rally young people to contribute time or funds to recovery and rebuilding efforts, MUSIC OF HOPE will feature inspirational music videos, live performances, artist interviews, exclusive news and stories about artists and young people who have been impacted by the disaster.

Star-studded event will be broadcast live on June 25

MTV Japan has announced that global multiplatinum rock artists Tokio Hotel, Korean supergroups Girls Generation and SHINee, UK rock band One Night Only and local favourites and Sendai-based Monkey Majik as additional performers at the MTV VIDEO MUSIC AID JAPAN. They join Lady Gaga, Exile and Kana Nishino at the tenth annual MTV Video Music Awards Japan (VMAJ), which is being staged as a live international music television event to benefit the Japanese Red Cross.

MTV VIDEO MUSIC AID JAPAN will be broadcast live from Makuhari Messe in Chiba Prefecture to more than 30 million households on MTV Japan, MTV Korea, MTV SEA and MTV China on Saturday June 25 at 1800 Tokyo & Seoul/1700 Singapore & Beijing. A special one-hour version of MTV VIDEO MUSIC AID JAPAN will air on MTV channels worldwide to over 550 million homes as an instalment of MTV’s weekly live music series, MTV WORLD STAGE.

A/N: Hey guys, so sorry the blog hasn't been updated much. Since TH are still working on their album, there hasn't been much news yet except for old interviews or pictures from past photo shoots. Nevertheless, we've updated whatever we could find (smaller updates can be found on our twitter). The major news/reminder: Tokio Hotel will be making 2 appearances in June.

1) 3rd June - RUSSIA
Tokio Hotel will perform at the MUZ TV Annual National Music Awards Ceremony!

Tokio Hotel's debut album will be released in Japan on February 2nd, 2011 and will be titled 'Dark Side of the Sun.' A special showcase will be held on December 15th in Tokyo and 50 pairs of tickets with be given out for a total of 100 tickets.

MTV's Musical March Madness: Championship Matchup Revealed!

It's My Chemical Romance vs. Coheed and Cambria For the championship of MTV's Band Bracketology! Winner will be revealed Wednesday!

Well, it's come down to this. After hundreds of thousands of votes, 65 teams, 20 days and 5 rounds, we've reached the championship game of MTV's Musical March Madness tournament. There have been shocking upsets, overtime thrillers and even accusations of voter fraud, all of which is going to make for one heck of a "One Shining Moment" montage. We plowed through regions, busted brackets, whittled our list down to a Terrific 32, a Sweet 16, an Elite 8 and a Final Four. And now, there are just two bands standing.

MTV March Madness - TH got into Final Four!

Yes, that's right! We heard that the awesome collective fan effort has paid off and TH won Owl City in the previous MTV March Madness poll!

Now TH is in the Final Four with My Chemical Romance, Muse & Coheed and Cambria. 

We're gonna have to pull all our efforts again to make sure we win this poll, so please, vote at least once every day here for TH to win! They've hidden the poll results this time, so it's slightly more difficult.

We're only allowed to vote once a day since MTV won't count future votes. That means if you've been receiving "Thank you, we've already counted your vote!" after you vote, we're not certain if it's counted in the poll.

When your IP address resfreshes, you'll get "Thank you for voting!" and this definitely shows that your vote's been counted.

So what's the best method to spam-vote? The suggestion is to bug your family members, friends, teachers, neighbours, etc. for favors. If you have mulitple PCs at home, that'd work too. I'm about to go to the school lab and attempt voting on every computer.

An alternative suggestion would be to change your IP address, or use a proxy to hide it, but we don't know if it definitely works.

World Behind My Wall has fallen to #2 again on the Radio 913 Charts. I am quite certain that they do not validate IC/phone numbers, so really, you can just fill those spots up with random numbers and it will count as a vote. :) 

WBMW also jumped to #5 on 987fm's chart from last week's #8!! Tune in to the Muttons to Midnight show starting next week... They're giving out information about how we can win tickets to the Malaysia concert!
