Bill and Tom Kaulitz: "We would never wear fur!"

translation by Goga/TokioHotelSerbia:
Last year, Bill and Tom Kaulitz went on tour with their band Tokio Hotel. During the "Welcome to Humanoid City" tour, the band visited Paris, Barcelona, Rome and many other places. Also Bill and Tom do some modeling along with handling their music business. Tom is the cover face for Reebok, Bill made an appearance on the Milan Fashion Week, and along with that they've graced the covers of Vogue, GQ - all established fashion magazines. Even the heavy-on-words designer Karl Lagerfeld spoke with love about Bill.

As a complete contrast to your stage outfits, on fashion shooting we can see you in classical italian suits. What do you say about that?

Bill
: It's definitely not something I'd wear every day, but I like to, from time to time. You can make combinationS, per example, at home I have a few coats I wear with jeans and such. I do not like to mask myself. Anything that would make me feel like I'm not in my own skin is out of the question. Suits and coats are a bit too much for the stage, too elegant, I like wearing leather jackets and stuff I can move around in as my stage clothes. Maybe I could wear that during a song or two... but not more.

You guys know that fashion trends change quickly. So you both probably have different ways to develop your fashion senses.

Bill
: I think there will always be outfits we'll like forever, and outfits we'll like for a while and then never again. This happens to me regularly now, too. I'm usually not ashamed for wearing something from my past, but there are things I look at and think: "Oh God, what was I wearing?" It's a normal part of growing up and finding your path. There are always those moments when we urge for a change and to try out something new and fresh.

Twins Questionnaire

questions translated by datptsdb:

Bill:

1) Bill’s hairdo is awesome. How much time does it usually take him each time?

2) If you were to analyze yourself, what kind of human (person?) would you say you are?

3) Zubari! (A difficult exclamation to translate. It means sort of like setting the record straight so there’s no more confusion I think) Please say what your impression of Japanese girls is.

4) Please tell us about twin episodes?

5) If were to attach a catchphrase to each member, what would you put?

6) Do you use any kind of perfume? If you do please tell us what you use.

Tom:

1) Please tell us what you like about yourself, what you don’t like.

2) I want you to talk about twin episodes. (Same as Bill’s question, just worded differently)

3) Of each member, is there anything you’d like to fix?

4) Zubari! Please say what your impression of Japanese girls is.

5) What type of girl do you like?

Bill & Tom from Tokio Hotel stand up for animals

The twins Bill and Tom Kaulitz of Germany's internationally most successful rock band Tokio Hotel protest with an elaborate photo opportunity for the use of animals in the entertainment industry: "The Slaves Of The Entertainment Industry: Wild Animals Out Of The Circus!" is the slogan with which the musicians, for the first time now participate in a PETA campaign.

Wild Animals Out of the Circus!

Check out screencaps of the video here (scroll down)
Interview translated by billandRocks:

Bill: Look, we are vegetarians and most important we don't want animals to be tortured, to live in a circus....Take a look: animals have to be in such a position! They are responsible for the amusement of people and that's why we're doing this photoshooting today and put ourselves in chains.

At first sight people are amused by watching such things and believe the animals have fun, but the truth is totally different. Their lives are not appropriate to the species and for "walking in a circle like this" there's some training needed plus beating.

Tom: There are always parents going to a circus with their kids. And the smallest of our society have no clue of what's going on, for sure! That's why parents have to be aware of these bad things.

Bill: And to add this, there are lots of circus sorts with human artists and all.

Second Scene

Tom: Now there's the second shoot! Now we're locked in a cage.

Interviewer: How do you feel being locked in like an animal? Okay?

Tom: No, I don't think so. For an animal it must be the worst. I mean were inside of this for only 10 mins to take this photo. That's enough though.

Bill: In general we notice a lot of animal "use" in the business whether it's music videos, TV shows etc. That's something we totally were against!

I mean an animal is simply locked in and doesn't know why. And and I really can't stand to evben imagine this, then I get teary eyes immediately!

Bill: The first dog we rescued out of a animal shelter was hardly injured and had scars on its ears because the owner stubbed out his cigarettes on the dog's ears. And he had worse teeth because he only got beer to drink when he was a puppy and so on. Those are experiences which impressed us.

Tom: Absolutely!

"Hey! We are Bill and Tom from Tokio Hotel and we support PETA! Don't let wildlife animals down, give them their freedom back and don't put them into circus! If you're interested, then to on peta.de and inform yourself!"

BOP: Happy New year! What was your highlight of 2009 and what are you looking forward to in 2010?

Bill: Releasing the new album was a highlight for us. We had a long and intense period working on the new songs, and it feels wicked to share all this with the world.

Tom: For 2010, we are just thrilled to be on tour in support of our Humanoid album and a huge new show, which is going to be amazing.

Tokio Hotel Frontman Bill Kaulitz Takes Milan By Storm At DSquared2 Show

There’s a reason we chose Tokio Hotel’s frontman, Bill Kaulitz, as one of the five artists who made 2009 look good — he makes this fashion thing look so easy.
The German rocker made his fashionable presence known even more as he strutted the runway at the DSquared2 Menswear Autumn/Winter 2010 show in Milan, Italy.
Looking like some gorgeous, goth vulture, the statuesque 20-year-old was poised and confident, even though he admitted to being nervous before the show.
Later he was spotted with his twin brother and bandmate Tom Kaulitz at the Z Zegna show.
